Presenting the Top 5 must have APPS!
The way in which we use and access the Internet has undergone something of a revolution in the past couple of years thanks to the introduction of “apps.” These specialised miniature versions of games, tools and internet-based resources now allow us to neatly customise our phones and tablet computers with our favourite bits of the web, from train times and painting tools to shopping services and entertainment. Simply packaged and easy to buy, apps have exploded onto the public consciousness in a way that no one could have predicted and it looks like they’re here to stay. Software developers and publishers have enthusiastically embraced this ‘app revolution’, rising to the challenge of customising their services for smaller screens but also taking advantage of new opportunities. The latest tablet computer craze has opened up a whole new (and larger) world for these apps to explore.
The problem is that there are now hundreds of thousands of apps that are available and finding the right one isn’t always easy, so with this in mind we have handpicked our Top 5, must-have apps! Enjoy!
1. Angry Birds: Android, iPad, iPhone: The app everyone has been talking about. Don't ask why the birds are angry, they just are, and they want revenge by destroying forts built by the evil green pigs. We think it’s best not to question and just enjoy! With this app long and boring journeys are a thing of the past.
2. Dropbox: Android, iPad, iPhone: Plenty of apps exist for transferring content between your computer and your device, but Dropbox is free and easier to use than most of its contemporaries. Dump files you want to sync in a folder on your computer and Dropbox for your device will enable you to access them, download them for offline viewing, and, in many cases, view them.
3. Tunein Radio: Android, iPad, iPhone: Frustrated by the lack of FM radios in Apple products? This app gives easy access to more than 40,000 stations. You can save favourites and record. Works brilliantly over Wi-Fi, and you'll soon wonder how you ever managed without this handy little app.
4. Cut the Rope: iPad, iPhone: Charming, challenging and hopelessly addictive. Cut The Rope is centered around a brilliant mix of realistic physics and cartoon slapstick, and it’s an absolute delight. Featuring the sweet-toothed On Nom, a loveable lilttle creature with an insatiable hunger for sweets and candy. Your quest is to feed him candy as quickly as possible by catapulting, swinging or floating it into his mouth.
5. iBook: iPad, iPhone: The new ebook reader app from Apple. All you have to do is tap on a book to read it. Simple and brilliant.
We hope you find these apps fun (and useful) and enjoy using them just as much as we have!
