Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows

As the world's most famous wizard prepares to leave our pages forever we are left with the echoing words of Lord Voldermort 'I must be the one to kill Harry Potter and I shall. ' the startling success of Rowling's career was made apparent on the release of the Deathly Hallows which broke all sales records to become the fastest selling book of all time, totalling 11 million copies worldwide in the first 24 hours upon release. The record had previously been held by Rowling for her penultimate novel, Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince which was credited with 9 million sales.

It was released in 93 countries to an eagerly anticipated audience; however, it is not for the faint hearted. As the book progresses, so does the sense of danger and the death toll. The book is so engaging that there is a feeling of frustration that we cannot do more and are left on the sidelines.

Spells, goblins, wizards, dark lords take their place into book and this Harry Potter novel is one of the most exciting and imaginative books you will read this year. It is a masterpiece of fiction, an ingenious construction, but most importantly a simply thrilling read. Without a doubt the darkest and most gruesome of the Potter books there is a definite shift from the children's novel it was originally thought of as being.

While it may seem complex to a first time reader, the simplicity is astonishing. It is brought right down to a single showdown between Harry Potter and Lord Voldermort; between good and evil. However for those of you who have not yet read the book, we shall stop there.
