In order to help victims who were affected by the earthquake on 12th May in the Sichuan Province of China, the NCC Education East Asia Regional Office organised a goods and funds raising campaign.
After delivering the goods to charity, NCC Education staff then took part in a blood donation . We are hoping that a small amount of blood from each of us can be of some help to those who were seriously injured during the catastrophic event.
Chengdu Neusoft Information Technology Insitute, one of NCC Education’s Accredited Partner Centres, has a very beautiful campus on the outskirts of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Its teaching facilities were damaged in the earthquake and very sadly, one of the students lost his life. The NCC Education East Asia Office raised funds of £3000 which will be used to repair essential facilities at the institute to help students return to the campus as soon as possible.
The blood donation organisers expressed their appreciation for the concerned and caring actions of all those involved. Bradley Wade, Director East Asia, said ‘’ Students and teachers in Sichuan have suffered so much from the earthquake, we feel we should do as much to help them as possible. We don’t have the skills to rescue people’s lives at the site, but we can pray for their safety and donate what we have to help them out at this difficult time’’.
