Spotlight on...Oshunkoya Ayodele Johnson

ayodele

Oshunkoya is currently studying IDB at IMTC in Nigeria. Upon completing this qualification, he hopes to begin his third year in Business Administration and then progress onto Master’s level. “NCC Education qualifications are up to date, and the assignments help further my understanding of developments in the business industry.” Once Oshunkoya has completed his studies he would like to work for a large multinational company, and eventually establish his own printing press company.

Oshunkoya decided to study an NCC Education qualification for many reasons. The main reason for studying this programme is that he can gain a British qualification in his home country, therefore saving costs; the facilities in the centre are modern and student friendly with “fully air-conditioned classrooms, a library, an internet café and competent and helpful tutors”. Oshunkoya's friends and fellow students have gained prestigious jobs upon completion of their programme “Many have graduated from NCC Education and work in companies like GTBank of Nigeria PLC and Eko Hotel PLC. Many are also in UK Universities completing their 3rd Year leading to a BSc.”

My Spotlight on Nigeria

The name Nigeria is taken from the Niger River which runs through the country. It is the most highly populated country in Africa with the population reaching nearly 160 million. Nigeria has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, with it being one of the largest oil exporters in Africa.

Our food is typical of that in West Africa with the combination of rich spices, herbs and palm oil or groundnut oil creating rich and colourful foods.

Football is our national sport, with the national football team known as Super Eagles, who have made the World Cup on four occasions, and won the Olympic gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics. The Nigerian team is the second top-ranked football team in Africa and 21st highest in the world according to the May 2010 FIFA World Rankings.
